FAQ

Common Questions, Straight Answers

Everything you need to know about ordering parts, shipping engines and working with our team.

Ordering & Availability

How do I know if a part is in stock?
Most listings reflect current warehouse inventory. If you can't find what you need in the catalog, use the Request a Quote form — we'll check the shelves and our sourcing network and get back to you within one business day.
Can I place an order online?
Yes. Add items to your cart and check out directly on the site. For large or freight-only items (complete engines, generators) you can also call us at 954-584-0042 or request a quote and we'll invoice you directly.
Do you sell new or used parts?
Both. We stock new OEM and aftermarket parts alongside inspected, tested used engines, generators and transmissions. Each listing indicates new or used condition.
What information do I need to order the right part?
For engines and major assemblies: make, model, serial number and horsepower rating. For parts: the engine make/model plus the part number if you have it. Not sure? Call us — our team can cross-reference.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship internationally?
Yes — worldwide. Export packing, crating and freight documentation are handled in-house. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout for standard shipments; for engines and large freight items we'll quote shipping separately.
How are engines and large items shipped?
Engines and generators are palletized or crated and shipped via LTL freight. Freight on these isn't charged at checkout — you pay for the item, then we work out the freight cost to your address and email you a payment link for it. Your order ships once that's settled. Most domestic freight deliveries take 3–7 business days.
How do I pay for freight shipping?
By a payment link we email you. Freight for engines, generators and other large items isn't calculated at checkout, so you're only charged for the items at the time you order. We then quote the LTL cost to your delivery address and send a secure link to pay it. Nothing ships until that's settled, and you'll see the amount before you pay anything.
How long does shipping take?
Small parts typically ship within 1–2 business days via UPS or FedEx. Freight items ship within 2–5 business days after payment confirmation. International transit times vary by destination.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. Local pickup is available at our Fort Lauderdale warehouse (941 SW 21st Terrace) during business hours (Mon–Fri · 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET · Sat by appointment). Select local pickup at checkout or call ahead.

Returns & Warranty

What is your return policy?
New parts may be returned within 30 days in original, uninstalled condition with proof of purchase. Used engines, generators and transmissions are sold as-is and are not returnable, though we stand behind our inspection process. See our full Shipping & Returns policy for details.
Is there a restocking fee?
There can be. Approved returns may be subject to a restocking fee depending on the item and the condition it comes back in — we'll quote the exact amount when we issue your return authorization, before you ship anything back. It most commonly applies to new parts returned within the 30-day window, special orders and non-stock items, orders cancelled after they've been picked or crated, and electrical parts.
Do used engines and generators come with a warranty?
Used units are sold in as-inspected condition. We test and run engines and generators where possible and disclose any known issues. If you have a concern after delivery, call us — we'll work with you to make it right.
What if a part arrives damaged?
Document the damage with photos before signing for delivery, then contact us within 48 hours at info@yachtsanddiesels.com. We'll file the freight claim and arrange a replacement or refund.

Services

Do you do gas-to-diesel conversions?
No — we work on diesel only and don't convert gas engines to diesel. We do handle complete diesel-to-diesel repowers and replacements: engine, matched transmission, mounts, controls, cooling and exhaust, all sized for your hull. Call or email to schedule a consultation.
Can you rebuild my engine or transmission?
Yes. We do in-frame and full rebuilds on most marine engines and transmissions, bench-tested before they leave the shop. Send us the make, model and serial number and we'll give you a rebuild assessment.
Can you fabricate a propeller or rudder?
Yes. We offer special fabrication of propellers and rudders — machined and finished to your vessel's specs when an off-the-shelf part won't do. Send us the details and we'll quote it.
Do you take trade-ins?
Yes — buy your next engine from us and we'll take your old one in on trade, putting its value toward the replacement. Let us know what you're running.
Do you offer mechanical service on-site?
Yes, from our Fort Lauderdale shop. We do diagnostics, repairs and routine maintenance. Call 954-584-0042 to schedule.
